Delicious Living: Recipe-Sausage, Beans and Greens

This recipe is an adaptation of one that Michael Symon made on the new show is on called, “The Chew” with Mario Batali and Clinton Kelly Daphne Oz and Carla Hall. Last week, we (my hubby and I) decided to make it when the temperature lowered and it was raining outside. BOY! Did this hit the spot! We made a huge patch thinking we would freeze some of it for another day, however, it didn’t make it past the next day. I hope you enjoy! Since it is the fall, I had received the latest Woman’s Day magazine with a slow cooker chicken pot pie recipe on the cover. That was my AHA moment and I knew then I had to make it. I decided not to cook it in the slow cooker because at the time it was full with a heap of chili (recipe soon to come). I had just picked up a can of pumpkin puree the other day to have it for a recipe because I have seen such neat recipe ideas with pumpkin. I am planning on trying the soup in the next week. I will let you know what the results are when I do. And if anyone else has tried the recipe, I would love … Continue reading

What’s Cooking Got to Do with It?

I had thought long and hard about placing a spot on this blog for cooking and recipes…and I just can’t see why I shouldn’t share my love of cooking with those who wish to read my blog. When I cook, it inspires me, it allows me to be creative (just like my writing), and it gives me a sense of pride and happiness when the people I love eat my creations and enjoy what I have made. Now that is what I call….delicious living! You will be seeing recipes that I try or am thinking about trying, recipes I have received from friends, family, magazines or other online cooking sites (most likely ones from Cooking Channel and Food Network). I hope the recipes and blog … Continue reading
