Musical Life Lessons: Brighter Than the Sun by Colbie Calliat
Brighter than the Sun by Colbie Calliat- Musical Inspiration from Teresa Morrow I heard this song today and thought, “Boy, this is just what I need!” It was a great reminder to me that we all have something special within us to share with the world, that is, well, “brighter than the sun”. Here are a few of the lyrics and my comments/thoughts about each– “…Who are we to tell fate where it’s suppose to go…” Soooo true! We are so quick to think we know better we tend to want to figure out where, what, who, when we should go next. The truth is we don’t need to have all the answers and we don’t need to know what is going to happen next. … Continue reading
Musical Inspiration: Taylor Swift “You Belong with Me”
;I have an affection for songs, music and songwriters. I mean the amount of time to put together just the right words with just the right music to create just a right song….so sweet. This week, the following song came on my phone as I was walking and it reminded me of how our true calling sings to us and is waiting in the wings for us to recognize and say to us, “You Belong with Me”. Musical Inspiration for Writers: Defying Gravity
Writers: Trust Your Instincts I love music! All kinds of music. For me, it can really rev me up and get me moving with my writing and in my business. It can bring back memories or make me think of creating new ones. Listening to music is one of my favorite things to do. One of the shows I have become attached to is Glee. It could be because I enjoy the musical ability of the singers/actors or it could be because I have a 13 yr old at home. Bottom line, I do like watching the show. The show has been on for about 2 years now and one song from the show has stuck with me since I heard it and that is … Continue reading
Musical Inspiraton for Writers: Remember to Come Home
Writers: Don’t Forget to Come Home I listen to music. For me, it can really rev me up and get me moving. It can bring back memories or make me think of creating new ones. Listening to music is one of my favorite things to do. During my exercise time this morning, a song came on by Daughtry (the lead singer is Chris Daughtry–from American Idol). Anyway, Daughtry has a song titled, ‘Home’ and here are a few of the lyrics. “I’m going home, to the place where I belong. Where your love has always been enough for me.” Daughtry When I was listening to the song, I began to think about writing and how writers can have a tendency to look outward for the … Continue reading
